I always enjoy taking pictures of sunsets.. You only have about 15 minutes to get the pictures that you want.. You have to work fast, and usually you have to decide your shots before the sunrise or sunset starts.. Something special happend to me on the flight to vegas.. I was just pulling out of Houston as the sun was setting. The sky was very beautiful, and very colorful.. It is almost a 3 hour flight from houston to vegas.. I kept looking at the sunset knowing it wont last very long, and enjoy the beauty of it before it goes away from so high up . This sunset was special.. Some how we followed it at the right angle, and that Sunset lasted for about 90 minutes.. Finally darkness came on, and the dark turned into the MASSIVE lights of Vegas. It was a very special flight..Something that I will never forget. I will always think of that sunset as the "Forever Sunset"

Sometimes photographers can just get into a creative slump.. It can happen to everyone. I feel that I let it happen from time to time.. Today I was on a flight to vegas, looking DOWN at all the beautiful clouds.. It brought a smile to my face because as a photographer I am always looking UP at the clouds for pictures..It was a different way for me to look at them.. I was just a speck in the sky wondering if anyone has taken the time to look up at an airplane that was flying over their city.. The best key to getting out of a slump is look at things a different way than you normally do..
The next step for me on this photography journey is to start making YouTube videos.. Wow!!! What a learning curve this is.. I must say that my experience has been with still photography, but learning video has been fun.. The video editing software has been a challenge to say the least.. I am sure the more I do these, the easier they will become. I still have to purchase some more equipment to do this the way I want, but at least it is a start, and I can make some videos, and hopefully pass a few tips to everybody along the way.. I really hope that you enjoy them.. Here is a video on improving your photography. Have you ever thought about rounding up your pictures and making a slide show from them?? What a great way to show pictures of your travels, pets, children or anything else.. Today it is very easy to do just that!! I have found a site called ANIMOTO.COM. This site takes the guess work out of making a slide show of your pictures.. Really all you do is drag and drop, and choose some music and your on your way to a professionally looking show. This could also be used for wedding photographers, or any photographer just wanting to show their work.. The free level lets you make a 30 sec video, and is very limited, but it lets you sample how easy this is.. For a few dollors a month you can do MUCH more.. Check it out!! I think you will like it!! I have added a link to the one I have made.
http://animoto.com/play/YXA4DYrEOpH8AqG0nd5RYA ![]() The peachtree rock is located in Lexington County SC. I have been to this area before, but wanted to go back, and take some pictures of this neat rock formation.. You have to hike down a trail about a 1/4 of a mile to get to the peachtree rock, but it is well worth the effort. There is also a small waterfall in the area, and lots of rocks and formations. Sometimes it is just fun to go to an area, and see what kind of pictures it holds.. If you have been to an area, and you just think there are no pictures to take, sit back awhile breathe in some fresh air, and you just might be surprised what you get.. This day I decided to try something different, and thought I would use HDR since the light is very different under all the trees. I am happy with the results. I also had a picture of the rock published on the SCIWAY site. If you would like to see, and learn more about Peachtree Rock please follow this link. http://www.sciway.net/sc-photos/lexington-county/peachtree-rock-heritage-preserve.html I hope all is well, and everyone is taking alot pictures. I am pleased to announce that a couple of my images of Myrtle Beach, SC has been added to the South Carolina Information Highway website.. This site showcases the beauty of South Carolina, and all the fun things to do around the state. These early morning images gives a sense of quietness which is not normal for this tourist resort area. Here is the link to the images.
